Lubniewice is a small town in the province of Lubuskie in western Poland. It has a unique microclimate and a well-developed tourist sector with numerous bars, cafes, restaurants, shops, a wide range of tourist-friendly accommodation, which includes a luxury spa hotel. Due to its picturesque character Lubniewice has for many years been known as the 'Pearl of the Lubuskie Lake District'. The town itself is inhabited by around 2,000 people; and in the wider district, consisting of Lubniewice and the three villages: Glisno, Jarnatów and Rogi, by almost 3,000. Most of the area is covered by forests, with Lubniewice itself picturesquely situated between two lakes Lubiaz and Krajnik, with a third lake, Lubniewsko, located just outside the town. There are numerous hiking, nordic walking, and biking trails throughout the area, and a nature reserve. There are several stables in and around Lubniewice where one can learn to ride horses, and/or join a horse-drawn carriage tour or sleigh rides in winter. Lubniewice also offers much to angling enthusiasts, lovers of canoeing, kayaking, sailing, and similar water sports, and birdwatchers will find the area a veritable paradise. History buffs will enjoy seeing the numerous German-era palaces and other historical buildings and monuments located in the area. Regular cultural events are held throughout the year.
